A Father's Love
A father's love and quiet strength
May often go unspoken,
His pride, his trust, his dignity
May never quite be broken.
He makes the world a safer place
And problems disappear

Little Eyes Upon You
There are little eyes upon you
and they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
to do anything you do;
And a little boy who's dreaming
of the day he'll be like you.
You're the little fellow's idol,
you're the wisest of the wise.
In his little mind about you
no suspicions ever rise.
He believes in you devoutly,
holds all you say and do;
He will say and do, in your way
when he's grown up just like you.

Learning from Dad
I learned all the really important things from my dad.
Things like how to catch the biggest fish,
And what it means when the wind blows from the south on Good Friday.
I learned things like the importance of a handshake
And being able to sing ever word of "Strawberry Roan"
Things like giving people a chance
And not being afraid to laugh…or to cry.
And to choose the laughter every time I can.
I learned things like how to change a tire
And how to talk to old people…
And how to find a solution to every problem I'll ever encounter.
He taught me that things always get better
That I'm as strong as I need to be…
And that I'll always be as special as he thinks I am.
